About the agency
Salter Gann Universal Promotions and Management is a full-service artist management agency. We specialize in the development and management of Country Indie Music Artists. The agency offers management, promotion, social media promotion, radio airplay, working with booking agents to book artist, and ultimately seeking a record label signing.
As an artist manager, I handle the daily business of the artist. I work very closely with my artists on a regular basis looking for new ways to market music--it’s about branding your artist and in today's world, there are many, many different avenues to take. As a result of working so close to my artists we become more like partners. The group of artists under my management has developed into a close knit family. We are all about supporting each other in all aspects of life. The music business is tough, and we understand that, so having a family to get you through makes a world of difference.
Meet the team
I was raised up on Country music. I had a friend who was an artist. I regularly traveled with her doing shows. After my first trip to Nashville and visiting the Ryman, I quickly became more involved with Country music. I met many of the older artists while being with her, and became closely involved in the music industry as time went by through these artists. This is how I learned the music industry first hand. I feel I have been taught by some of the best Nashville has to offer. One of the artists in particular showed me the importance of treating his band and management team as family. Seven years ago, I started managing and promoting Country artists, giving my services for no charge. Three years ago, I started signing artists to a contract and charging. The way I charge an artist is different from most management agencies because I’ve seen the struggles an Indie Artist goes through to get known. This is my reason for doing management in my own style.

I've been into music for as long as I could speak. I started playing guitar around 12 years old, and started writing my own songs at 15. I've worked hard to position myself for the big leagues, which is why I chose SGU as management in the first place. Now, with the opportunity to work alongside my Phyllis, I plan to help each artist affiliated with SGU in achieving their dreams! With Phyllis taking care of the management side of things and myself covering the media and artist development, I believe we will create a force to be reckoned with.

I started playing bass at the age of 12 along to the older country and rock and roll. Back then they were still on 8 tracks. Soon after, I moved to Orlando where I played in hair bands and started DJ-ing. I did that for about 9 years and then moved to Atlanta where I married my best friend Lisa. We had two great kids Cheyenne and Christian. While working as a roadie and security at festivals, I had the opportunity to meet David Allan Coe's guitar player B.B. Lee which opened some doors for me. I've recently been managing a few fan clubs on Facebook, which is how I stumbled across SGU. I saw how Phyllis was preaching family, and I liked what I heard. Her, Drake, and the rest of SGU welcomed me into their family--thank y'all--and the rest is still being written!
